Who is Gary Stewart?
Gary has been a financial adviser since 1989 and is an Authorised Financial Adviser. For the first 11 years Gary was associated to Tower Financial Advisory Services. In 2000 he helped form Goldridge with 12 colleagues. Gary was granted a CFP® in 2001. The designation is a professional certification mark upheld to recognise standards of excellence in personal financial planning. The mark follows Gary’s qualification at Massey University in 2000, Diploma of Business Studies endorsed in Financial Planning.

By law, Gary provides a disclosure statement upfront before giving advice. The information answers six important questions that you must know about him. It is important that you read this document.

Why do I need a financial adviser?
People are busy specialising in their own professions. They can lack access to quality information and research before making decisions.

Free calculators and guides are available. They are designed for the masses. Getting started often requires professional advice and discipline. To create and adjust financial plans. To select and implement financial products. It’s difficult, if not impossible to keep up with all the changes in products and innovations.

Gary Stewart can help you to identify your goals. To provide  discipline, opinion, objective views, experience and quality resources.

Gary can help with cash management and budgeting, be your insurance broker, investment adviser, mortgage broker, business succession adviser and estate planner. Working with you and your legal and accounting professionals.

A financial adviser is a necessity to help you bring it all together and keep you on track.

Where does Gary Stewart work?
Gary and his staff are based in Tauranga. He has a Rotorua meeting room, regularly visiting clients from Whitianga to Opotiki, and Hamilton. He has clients throughout New Zealand.

Gary has adapted to innovations in technology over the years. He encourages his clients to communicate by the internet when available. This provides flexibility to deliver more services to clients. Both locally and at a distance.

Here’s what others say about what happened after working with Gary Stewart

We were skeptical when we started working with Gary because we did not understand investments and markets. With regular reviews and use of simple terminology Gary has put us on the right track with our investments. We now feel confident about our portfolio, due to the fact that we have not lost any capital during the financial crisis. We have a much better understanding of our retirement income. We could have put our money all into property but we now have growth, income and access immediately to all of our funds.”

Ray and Dianne -Whakatane

“I am pleased Gary introduced me to the Wrap Service as he now manages my entire investment portfolio and reports to me quarterly. I used to spend hours every week reading all the product material I received, and making investment decisions. Now I enjoy my retirement lifestyle without all the financial worries and Gary has maintained steady growth from the portfolio since early 2003. If I have any questions I know I only have to call Gary.”

Mary - Tauranga

“Gary has managed my portfolio since 1998 and he introduced me to the wrap process in July 2006. I was a bit nervous a couple of years ago, but since the Credit Crisis I have full confidence in Gary and the investment process as I have maintained small gains, but more importantly I have lost none of my capital. I like the way the reports are produced and that I can obtain any information my accountant requires. Gary has always promoted designing the portfolio for me. That it is a long term process, but is flexible to my changing needs. I do not worry about my portfolio now. I focus on my lifestyle. I know Gary will keep me informed regularly. I would be happy to refer anyone to Gary for investment advice.”

Family

Gary has been married to Jo for 42 years. They have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. He enjoys working in the business with his son Brendon. Most of Gary’s leisure time is spent with family particularly supporting his grandchildren in sporting activities. This covers a wide range of team sports including Soccer, Rugby, Netball, Basketball, Hockey and Softball.

Jo and Gary enjoy the outdoors, particularly camping. Many years ago they instigated a camping holiday at Port Ohope. This has now become a family tradition with 3 families in January every year. Their 9 grandchildren have been attending since babies. Now they are starting to include their friends as well.

Gary spent over 40 years playing the Side Drum at the highest level with pipe bands in the Manawatu, Tauranga and Wellington. This included playing in Wellington Police to win 1988 Australian Championships. They competed in Scotland and the Irish Pipe Band Championships in 1990. Gary enjoys catching up with some old Drummer mates to support the All Blacks at the Bledisloe Cup in Australia each year.
