Introducing Peter Hawes

I am an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA) plus a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and have been working in the financial services industry for nearly 22 years working with long-term clients.

In 2000 I was instrumental in helping to form our Professional Advisory Network Goldridge Limited, of which I am a founding Principal and Director.

The main area I specialise in is investment planning, working with individual clients, Family Trusts and Trustees.

In many situations this also involves me working closely with other Professional Advisers including Accountants and Solicitors to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.

Professional development,

Goldridge advisers have always been up-skilling and completing further professional development.  Peter attended the IFA conference in Wellington in July and met up with John Sumner from Napier (Goldridge Investment Panel) and Bill Dahlberg from Nelson/Tasman (Goldridge Director).  All three are AFAs plus CFPs and enjoy seeking out new information or ideas that will assist our clients.

Continuing professional development at Sydney Forum,

Peter attended the Portfolio Construction Forum held in Sydney, Australia last week of August, along with our Investment Director Joe Byrne and some other Goldridge Advisers.  It is noted as a high powered forum with sort-after presenters covering a range of topics critiqued by selected panel that asks the tricky questions to test the information validity.  Lots on global markets, USA and Europe challenges, China’s growth path, economic and political factors that can effect out-comes and how all these can and will effect client investment portfolios.

Goldridge community involvement

Our office supports the local community

One of my passions is basketball and having played representative basketball in my earlier years I decided it was time to give something back to the game through coaching junior basketball.  I have coached junior basketball at Bethlehem College for the last five years.

As president of the Otumoetai Swimming Club I enjoy being involved in helping to deliver high quality swimming lessons and training for competitive and non-competitive swimmers.

Personal and Time Out

I have been married to my wife Linda for 22 years and we have one son, Jarrad, aged 13 years and he is a competitive National swimmer, represents his school in Athletics, Swimming, Basketball and Rugby.

For time out together we all enjoy fishing, either off the coast of Mount Maunganui or on Lake Taupo.

I play masters basketball and the occasional game of golf and tennis for pure enjoyment. To keep fit I swim 2-3km every day, together with a family walk around the Mount on a Sunday.
